Position Overview The Trade Marketing Assistant Manager is responsible for developing and executing trade marketing strategies and programs that drive sales, strengthen brand presence, and ensure effective execution in retail channels. This role requires close collaboration with distributors, sales teams, and marketing to deliver impactful in-store activations and ensure optimal use of trade spend. Key Responsibilities Trade Marketing Strategy & Planning Develop annual and quarterly trade marketing plans aligned with brand and sales objectives. Plan and implement channel-specific activation strategies for Modern Trade, General Trade, and E-commerce (if relevant). Recommend promotional mechanics and in-store engagement activities to maximise ROI. Distributor & Sales Collaboration Work closely with distributor trade and sales teams to ensure alignment on execution plans. Conduct regular business reviews with distributors to monitor progress and identify opportunities. Provide sales teams with promotional tools, materials, and guidelines to ensure consistent execution. In-store Activation & Execution Plan and coordinate all in-store activations, including POSM deployment, sampling, and display contests. Ensure consistent brand visibility, compliance with planograms, and execution of brand guidelines at store level. Monitor competitor activities and provide actionable insights to the marketing and sales teams. Trade Spend Management Manage and track trade marketing budgets, ensuring spend is within agreed limits and delivers measurable returns. Ensure all promotional claims are supported with the required documentation for settlement. Evaluate trade programs to optimise effectiveness and efficiency. Reporting & Analysis Track and analyse activation results, sales uplift, and return on trade investments. Prepare regular reports on trade marketing activities, competitor movements, and market trends. Recommend adjustments to strategies and programs based on performance data. Cross-functional Collaboration Liaise with marketing for campaign alignment and adaptation for trade channels. Partner with supply chain to ensure product availability for promotions and activations. Support NPD (new product development) launches with in-store visibility and sampling programs. Qualifications: Degree in Marketing/Business Management or Administration or a related field.
