The Strategic Purchasing Engineer is responsible for sourcing and managing suppliers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and timely delivery of parts and components, while supporting new product development and localization projects. The role involves close collaboration with engineering and technical teams, conducting supplier evaluations, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with purchasing policies and standards.

Source and select parts and components while managing suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, focusing on lead times, pricing, and quality.
Track supplier performance throughout contract periods, including evaluations and improvement feedback.
Gather and assess market data to support informed purchasing strategies.
Conduct feasibility assessments for potential localization projects.
Collaborate with Engineering on cost estimation and support for new product development.
Coordinate closely with suppliers and technical teams during product trials, qualifications, and transitions.
Inspect and evaluate new supplier samples when needed.
Support local production by assisting with equipment setup, maintenance, and spare part sourcing.
Follow purchasing policies set by headquarters.
Build long-term, strategic partnerships with suppliers based on business needs.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with commercial, legal, and contract standards.

Work with a global leader within their industry.Develop strong procurement and engineering skills.A successful Procurement Engineer should have:

Holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
Has 3+ years of experience in procurement involving sheet metal, wire mesh, and plastic components.
Skilled in estimating part and tooling costs.
Strong team player with effective communication and negotiation skills across the supply chain.
Able to work independently under pressure, with a customer-focused and results-driven mindset.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as metal fabrication, plastic injection, and control panel assembly is a plus.
Experience in sourcing raw materials and monitoring market trends is advantageous.
Background in quality assurance or quality control is an added benefit.
