Reuters is seeking an enterprising journalist with strong contacts and deep industry knowledge to lead our Commodities and Energy coverage from Kuala Lumpur, with a focus on the closely watched palm oil sector.The Malaysia Commodities & Energy correspondent will produce a top-of-class file on a sector with an avid readership, delivering sharp and insightful market reports, market-moving scoops and compelling initiative stories, covering everything from pricing, output and demand trends to labour, the environment, politics, energy and palm oil’s role as a feedstock in the burgeoning biofuels industry.As Malaysia Commodities & Energy correspondent, you will work closely with specialist commodities and energy colleagues around the region and globally and contribute to coverage on the wider Malaysia and Southeast Asia news files.This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and competitive journalist to dig deeply into a closely watched industry, delivering outstanding coverage for specialist and general audiences.About the Role

About You
You're a fit for the role of Malaysia Commodities & Energy Correspondent if you:
  • Have strong sourcing, sector expertise and a proven track record in breaking news
  • Have a good understanding of markets
  • Be able to write fast, clear, accurate copy
  • Have fluency in Malay language (a plus)
  • Have at least 2 years experience in journalism or relevant equivalent.
