Role and Responsibilities Providing proactive, high quality legal support and advice to the organization in an effective and timely manner; Identifying legal risks and issues in the business context and applying legally acceptable solutions; Delivering work according to plan and having contingency plans to deliver required output; Involved in the preparation, review and negotiation of contracts with contractors, co-ventures and with Samaiden in all aspects of the company's business and operations; Advising the business to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies; Demonstrating and applying understanding of commercial and contract law in all aspects of work; Effectively managing and monitoring all litigation / disputes; Communicates across functions and actively participates in the spread of knowledge, best practice and awareness of legal commitments and initiatives through the business; Establishing and updating contract templates, including training the respective users on effectively applying such templates; Facilitate the external company secretaries on corporate secretarial matters; and Supports the CFO by providing strategic and proactive legal advice in the management of contracts and the resolution of commercial, legal and compliance related disputes issues. Additional Notes (IF ANY) A Malaysian lawyer with a Degree in law and called to the Malaysian Bar. At least 3-6 years' experience in the legal practice with preference for experience in the oil and gas industry. LLB (Hons), Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP Malaysia) or English Bar (BVC or BPTC) A confident communicator with good presentation and negotiation skills Team player possessing sound interactive skills with demonstrated ability to contribute and deliver in a multidisciplinary team as well as being able to work independently with minimum supervision. Ability to take initiative/lead to understand the company's business. Problem solving skills to achieve business objectives within applicable constraints.
