Job Purpose: This position is responsible to provide legal advice and review agreements related to generally to the businesses currently carried on by the Sunway Group, the acquisitions of existing or new businesses, joint ventures or starting up new businesses in Malaysian and overseas (including private trusts), financing documents and advising on dispute matters. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Experienced in the real estate matters Understanding and advising on potential acquisitions of businesses which are similar to existing businesses or new businesses in the digital economy and strategic investments; Drafting and reviewing term sheets, agreements/contracts relevant for real estate and non-real estate sectors Drafting and reviewing agreements for the acquisitions of land banks and development joint ventures Review and advising on operational agreements including digital contracts, tenancy agreements, sale and purchase agreement and other commercial contracts Able to advise or discern regulations affecting the current businesses carried on and businesses to be acquired Generally attending to and solving any legal issues assigned to the Manager that may arise from time to time Working with external legal counsels and other professional advisers. Obtaining legal fees proposals and making comparisons; Able to advise on dispute resolutions; Any other duties as and when assigned from time to time. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: Called to the Bar and with minimum Second Class Honours or CGPA/GPA of 2.5 and above for Bachelor of Law from a reputable university. 3-5 years relevant working experience preferably with experience in legal practice in the relevant areas of practice that meets the job requirements Possess experience in some of the following areas - a good working experience on land matters and general corporate matters in particular on areas of mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and share subscription/purchase, conduct of legal due diligence and information technology contracts. Possess good working knowledge of the Companies Act, Capital Markets and Services Act, National Land Code, Trade Marks, Personal Data Protection, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing, Proceeds of Illegal Activities Act, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements and other legislation applicable Able to work independently, with good leadership skills and ability to demonstrate authority in relevant legal knowledge/practice and possess good nature disposition.
