Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Presales Engineer to support our business development efforts by translating technical solutions into business value. This role involves working closely with sales, project, and technical teams to design, present, and propose solutions that address client needs. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge across networking, cybersecurity, and infrastructure domains, combined with excellent communication and consultative skills. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and provide technical expertise during pre-sales engagements. Analyze RFPs, RFIs, and tender documents, and prepare compliant technical proposals, solution designs, and BOMs. Design end-to-end IT infrastructure solutions including network architecture, server systems, storage, virtualization, cloud, and security. Deliver compelling solution presentations, product demos, POCs, and workshops to clients and partners. Engage with vendors and distributors to source quotations, validate compatibility, and obtain special pricing if required. Conduct site surveys and assessments to validate design assumptions and integration feasibility. Ensure that proposed solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with client budget, timelines, and objectives. Act as a technical advisor and trusted consultant to customers throughout the sales cycle. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant technologies, trends, and industry developments. Provide handover documentation to post-sales/implementation teams to ensure smooth project delivery. Support marketing and business development activities (e.g., events, webinars, solution write-ups). Requirements: Education & Experience: Bachelor&aposs degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferably major in Network Engineering/ Security Engineering. Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in presales, solution consultancy, or technical design, preferably in a system integrator, distributor or principle environment. Technical Competencies: Solid technical knowledge in at least three of the following areas: Networking (LAN/WAN, VPN, VLANs, SD-WAN) Cybersecurity (firewalls, endpoint, IDS/IPS, zero trust) Servers and storage (Dell, HPE, Synology, etc.) Virtualization and hypervisors (VMware, Hyper-V) Cloud (Microsoft Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments Strong experience preparing solution designs, BOQs, solution proposals, and technical documentation. Familiarity with tender processes (GITN, MOF, etc.) is an advantage. Certifications: Industry certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, VCP, Azure Administrator, or equivalent are highly preferred. Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build client trust.
