About the Role The Account Assistant plays a key role in supporting the finance team by maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of accounting data. This position focuses on performing double-entry bookkeeping and assisting with General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP) functions. The role requires attention to detail, consistency, and a solid understanding of basic accounting principles. Responsibilities : Prepare payment voucher, cheque, telegraphic transfer and bank trade facility e.g. BG, LC, etc. Perform double-entry bookkeeping for all financial transactions Assist in maintaining and reconciling the General Ledger (GL) Record and monitor Accounts Receivable (AR) and follow up on outstanding balances Record and manage Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring timely and accurate entries Support monthly and year-end financial closing activities Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation for audits Ensure all financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and properly filed Skills & Qualifications: Basic knowledge of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Possess good interpersonal and communication skills with good working attitude.
