The role of Accounts Manager involves overseeing financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance within the organisation. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting and finance, particularly within the industrial/manufacturing sectorMonth-End Closing Activities
  • Assist with monthly closing tasks such as creating and posting journal entries, reconciling inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) accounts, and ensuring ledgers are balanced.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and other departments to ensure deadlines for month-end close are met.
Process Improvement & Cost Optimisation
  • Proactively identify areas to reduce operational costs and enhance profitability within manufacturing.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving cost efficiency and streamlining processes.
  • Ensure the accounting system remains accurate and reliable.
Cost Accounting
  • Design, implement, and manage a cost accounting system that accurately tracks the cost of production and sales.
  • Maintain accurate cost data within the ERP system.
  • Evaluate manufacturing expenses as raw materials, direct labor, and overhead and analyse variances or emerging cost trends.
  • Deliver timely and precise cost reports, including both standard and actual product costs.
  • Work closely with Plant Managers to assess manufacturing work flows and enhance decision-making through cost analysis.
Additional Duties
  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned by management.
Professional Career Growth and DevelopmentMarket Leader
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional certifications like CPA, ACCA, or CMA are preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial insights to both finance and non-finance personnel.
  • Capable of managing multiple responsibilities independently while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work 5.5 days per week.
