Responsibilities: Manage the APEL Centre and ensure that the SOP and policies are implemented and recommend any changes. Provide administrative leadership and management for the University's learning management system (Blackboard) and (Open Learning) and other related applications. Supervise, guide, and evaluate performance of the LMS system and the and other professional staff as assigned. Research and implement new instructional strategies to remain competitive in the delivery of education; research emerging technologies and their application to teaching and learning. Coordinate training and mentoring opportunities for faculty engaged in designing, instructing, or reviewing online / hybrid courses; develop, and schedule quality-training opportunities for new and continuing faculty, in the use of technology in instruction design support, for the purpose of assisting students in using eLearning tools for effective study. Collaborate with Group IT and overseeing system updates, upgrades, and evaluate technologies relevant to SUOL learning. Work with Faculty/School to develop appropriately unified course format and packaging to provide students with seamless and user-friendly online learning as they take different courses on different platforms. Establish administrative practices for tracking students, potential students, instructors, advisors, assessors, moderators and external moderators. Manage the day to day operation of the department in terms of class scheduling, academic plan, monitoring of delivery among others Requirements: Degree in Management / Business Administration/ Management, or a related field with at least 3 years working experience in a similar capacity. Possess strong leadership qualities, result-oriented, meticulous and organised. Solid problem solving, critical thinking, people-management, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
