- Manage and supervise laboratory staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management
- Ensure that laboratory testing is conducted in accordance with company and regulatory standards
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and systems to ensure that laboratory testing is accurate and reliable
- Analyze test results and communicate findings to other departments and management
- Ensure that laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Monitor inventory levels of laboratory supplies and place orders as necessary
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that products meet quality standards
- Continuously improve laboratory operations and processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Knowledge of food science, food chemistry and food microbiology
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and laboratory procedures
- Strong knowledge of food manufacturing and quality control standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
