The Project Buyer will lead purchasing strategies for new product developments and modifications, managing supplier selection, negotiations, and contracts to ensure cost, quality, lead time, and sustainability targets are met. This role works closely with cross-functional teams in Malaysia and overseas, supporting the full project lifecycle from R&D collaboration to mass production transition.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies for new projects
  • Select, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts for tools, components, and materials
  • Ensure targets for cost, quality, lead time, and sustainability are achieved
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Commodity Buyers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain and update procurement data and documentation in ERP (SAP) systems
  • Plan and anticipate supplier capacity, material needs, and timelines
  • Support the transition from project phase to mass production during the first 6 months
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives and improvements in global sourcing strategies

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Purchasing or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in project-based procurement
  • Preferably with strong knowledge of textile manufacturing processes
  • Skilled in cost analysis tools (CBD, TCO)
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin, both spoken and written
  • Working knowledge of SAP is an advantage
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and strong team collaboration skills
