About the Role My client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Assembly Assistant Manager to lead their assembly operations for a forward thinking industry in machine making operations. This pivotal role is responsible for driving team performance, ensuring product quality, and continuously improving assembly processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Leadership & Team Development Inspire, lead, and mentor a team of assembly technicians to achieve operational excellence. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Conduct regular training to upskill team members on advanced assembly techniques and safety standards. 2. Assembly Operations Management Oversee end-to-end assembly processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to quality benchmarks. Collaborate with production planning to align schedules and optimize resource utilization. Enforce strict compliance with assembly protocols and operational procedures. 3. Quality Assurance Implement robust quality control systems to ensure all products meet internal and customer specifications. Lead regular inspections and audits, proactively addressing any quality deviations. 4. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement Identify and implement process enhancements using lean manufacturing principles. Champion continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity and reduce operational waste. 5. Safety & Compliance Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations across all assembly activities. Conduct safety drills and training to maintain a secure working environment. Respond swiftly to safety incidents and implement corrective actions. 6. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of assembly activities, production metrics, and issue logs. Prepare and present performance reports with actionable insights for improvement. 7. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, and procurement teams to ensure seamless operations. Communicate effectively with senior leadership on progress, challenges, and strategic plans. Qualifications & Skills Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field Minimum 10 years of experience in assembly operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven ability to lead and motivate high-performing teams. Strong technical knowledge of assembly processes, especially for machine making. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Skilled in safe and efficient use of assembly tools and equipment.
