Join us and become a Heartist®.Job DescriptionAs our Demi Chef, you will work closely with the executive chef, sous chef, and chef de partie to ensure the highest quality of food preparation and presentation. You will be responsible for menu development, maintaining food standards, and ensuring kitchen cleanliness. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and developing junior kitchen staff.
- Arrive punctually to initiate daily kitchen operations
- Proficiently manage assigned kitchen sections and fulfill all job requirements
- Oversee and execute mise en place to ensure efficient food preparation
- Provide guidance and training to kitchen apprentices
- Strictly adhere to and enforce safety and sanitation standards
- Create visually appealing and flavorful culinary dishes
- Effectively manage kitchen staff scheduling and placement
- Maintain professional relationships with all kitchen and restaurant staff
- Adhere to proper chef uniform standards at all times
- Demonstrate versatility in handling various culinary tasks as needed
- Educate staff on company policies and procedures, including the Heartist handbook
- Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of higher-ranking kitchen staff
- Minimum SPM qualification or SKM/Culinary course graduate
- Minimum 2 years' experience in similar capacity
- Proficient in basic cooking skills with ability to learn new dishes
- Excellent cooperation skills within kitchen and with service staff
- Disciplined, self-motivated, and courteous
- Good personal hygiene and neat appearance
