Purpose of this position 1. To ensure continuous improvement on production and laboratory technology that meets industry best-in-class safety and quality standard. 2. This role covers all activities for Special Gases Center in Bukit Raja. The person will assist PGP Site Manager to lead in Quality Assurance project for SGC Production and Laboratory area. 3. The scope of this position also covers all logistic requirements for Special Gases production in Bukit Raja. He / She will manage the daily operation to ensure safe and efficient functioning of the Logistic activities. Principal responsibilities 1. Safety Implementation Plan Implement and maintain SIP that ensure all site personnel have the tools and facilities to carry out their daily tasks in safest manner to achieve zero injuries and accidents. Ensure a safe operating environment for cylinder filling, testing, handling and plant operations. Proactively works in partnership with local production management to identify gaps, implement improvement program including adjustment where appropriate, share best safety practice. Participating in Site Safety Committees meeting and carries out LeadSafe engagement. Support the implementation of regional Best Operating Practice at site level: ensure all operators fully understand the concepts. 2. Laboratory strategies implementation Implements laboratory strategies on sites to ensure the business delivers the Product Service Offers (PSO) Identifies opportunities and proposes improvement plant to closing gaps between current and desired. Monitor and reports implementation plans on regular basis. Implement good QMS with proper documentation on daily activities that meet ISO standards 3. Implementations of cost improvement programs Identifying, prioritizing and implementing cost improvement in all areas of production. Work with team to identify the improvement opportunities in Production and Laboratory area Work with BR PGP Site Manager to identify cost improvement opportunities, provides input on the site-level strategy. Assist Manager in working collaboratively with HR, SHE, IM and Finance to support productivity targets. Identifies opportunities and proposes improvement plans on cost reduction. 4. Implementation of financial plan Provides input to Manager in setting annual budget in his / her assigned areas. Receives and follows input from Manager regarding cost VS budget. Assists Manager in collating data relevant for setting the annual budget. 5. Leadership functions Functional leadership Assist and ensure all accountabilities of Lab Assistant are delivered with his / her support. Collaborates with relevant operators and technical staff from different aspects to achieves business objectives, as well as to track progress. 6. Risk management Participates in laboratory / System audits as member / auditee for the Operations. Carries out plan to ensure all laboratory activities meet company safety, quality and environmental standard and national legislative requirements 7. Competency development Review the ISO documentation, amend accordingly to suit the Best Operating Practices. Conduct competency training to ensure all the site personnel are trained and qualified for their position.
