Primary Function Carry out accurate and timely analysis/test as required by the customers. Support and maintain the Laboratory operations. Coordinate activities of the section in the absence of Coordinator. Principal Duties/Responsibilities Carry out tests and report tests results in accordance with the specified methods, customer&aposs requirements or standard methods, as given in the worksheet and LIMS. Ensure data generated in the laboratory meets all the requirements of the "data handling guideline" procedure, enforced in the laboratory. Represent the Laboratory as witness at third party and refinery laboratory. Standardize reagent/equipment, prepare titration solvent and test solutions when necessary. Upkeep cleanliness of work area, apparatus and equipment. Assist the Trainer to conduct practical training for new technicians, where assigned. Assist new staff in laboratory tests and techniques. Upkeep the cleanliness of the laboratory. To review, question and repeat tests if suspicious results encountered. Wash and clean glassware as required. Maintain good housekeeping by cleaning up after each tests. Maintain and manage sample storage. To work on overtime basis as and when required. Perform any tasks as assigned by management. Competency Requirements Possess Bachelor&aposs Diploma in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering field or equivalent. Those who have Professional Certificate or Higher Nitec with related experience will be considered. Minimum three years of working experience in petroleum or petrochemical laboratory industry. Experience handling laboratory instruments such as GC, GCMS, HPLC, FTIR, UV spectrophotometer or petroleum physical testing such as distillation unit, flash point tester, density meter and etc. Preferably has exposure /attended training related to laboratory instruments by external training provider.
