As a SOX Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our client's financial operations. You will be responsible for validating SOX control requirements, ensuring that all changes are accurately documented. Your role will also involve performing rigorous controls review and testing, identifying any deficiencies, and recommending appropriate remediation plans. You will have the opportunity to participate in continuous improvement projects, contributing your expertise towards the implementation of new processes and systems. Your responsibilities will also include preparing detailed reports and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Assist in validating SOX control requirements with relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain the SOX control framework requirements and ensure changes are captured and documented appropriately
  • Perform controls review and testing to assess compliance with SOX Control framework
  • Recommend remediation plans for deficiencies identified and follow through issues remediation/resolution
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects involving new processes and systems
  • Support in providing periodic status reporting of the projects to relevant stakeholders
  • Prepare internal/external reports as necessary
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as requested
What you bring:The ideal candidate for this SOX Officer role brings a wealth of audit and risk advisory experience along with a strong academic background in accountancy or finance. You should hold professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA or CIA. Your knowledge of current industry standards like COSO will be essential for success in this role. We value candidates who can demonstrate excellent command of English and proficiency in Malay. Your ability to analyse situations, identify strengths and weaknesses of options, and exercise critical thinking will be crucial. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and can work independently while maintaining a high level of quality work product and output.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance or equivalent with professional certification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIA)
  • Minimum of four years' audit and risk advisory experience
  • Knowledgeable with current industry standards such as COSO
  • Excellent command of English and proficiency in Malay [a plus]
  • Experience with analysing and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of options
  • Ability to exercise critical thinking, problem solving, and judgement skills
  • Detail oriented nature
