- Oversee daily maintenance activities to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of all equipment and facilities
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution of issues
- Manage, mentor, and develop the maintenance team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify training needs to enhance team capabilities
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and manage scheduling to maintain adequate coverage
- Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, ensuring regular servicing and inspections of equipment
- Coordinate with other departments to plan and schedule maintenance activities, minimizing operational disruptions
- Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources
- Monitor and control expenses, including parts, labor, and contracted services
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing any hazards or compliance issues
- Promote a safety-first culture within the maintenance team
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
- Oversee contractor work to ensure adherence to company standards
- Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team and other departments
- Troubleshoot complex maintenance issues and implement effective solutions
- Stay updated on the latest maintenance technologies, techniques, and best practices
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs
- Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance performance, including KPIs and metrics
- Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory requirements and company policies
- Lead improvement projects from planning through execution
- Demonstrate the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field
- At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial maintenance role
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical equipment, machinery, and preventive maintenance practices
- Experience in lean manufacturing is an added advantage
- Proven ability to manage teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledgeable about safety regulation
