Vacancy: Modern Workplace Engineer (SSCM/MECM) Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Job Family: IT The Modern Workplace Engineer will support the End User Services function within the wider End User and Network team. The primary goal of the role is twofold: firstly, to be responsible for operational/level 3 support and administration of JM's core end user productivity suite, specifically Microsoft 365, Operating System & Application Deployment services and a robust and resilient desktop patching platform. Secondly, is to be responsible for the Microsoft productivity and messaging suite services, M365, desktop infrastructure, MECM, SCCM, Autopilot and Intune. The Modern Workplace Engineer will also work closely with the architecture teams to support them with designing solutions and the engineer will ultimately be responsible for implementing solutions and supporting projects. Your accountabilities: Maintain Configuration Management Gateway to service internet-based clients and maintain MECM and Autopilot core services around client health, evergreen operating system release cycle, patching, performance monitoring and application deployment. Support and maintain Intune services including Intune client policy deployments and Managed Application Management. Maintain WSUS and related systems and services. Manage and support Azure Virtual Desktop environment. Support and maintain the core Microsoft 365 suite of services for our end users and email infrastructure including SMTP and Exchange as well as Azure Information Protection and Advanced Threat Protection and support SecOps with security tools in M365. Participate in 3rd line incident troubleshooting and service request fulfilment within SLAs and work with 3rd party vendors to escalate and manage incidents. As required participate in relevant projects and service improvement workstreams. Ensure documentation is maintained, kept up to date and knowledge shared with colleagues. Ability to work flexible working hours to support a global, multi-time zone customer base and be part of an on-call rota for out of hours support. Requirements for the role: Experience and capable in System Centre Configuration Manager / Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manage, Autopilot and Configuration Management Gateway. WSUS and associated systems maintenance and continued service improvement. Significant experience working with system management tools for the remote deployment of operating system patching as well as deployment of operating systems and applications. Experience of desktop policy management through GPO and Intune policies. Excellent understanding of application packaging and deployment as well as exposure to MSI-X. Experience of managing and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop environments. Experience supporting Office 365 in a global organisation including supporting email infrastructure such as Exchange and SMTP as well as the core suite of Microsoft 365 services. Exposure and understanding of Microsoft Entra, Conditional Access Policies, data protection standards and compliance as well as Microsoft Azure Information Protection and Advanced Threat Protection. Knowledge and practical experience of sensitive legal search and hold.
