JOB PURPOSE: To manage contract and commercial functions for power plant and infrastructure projects, ensuring effective cost control, contractual compliance, and risk management. This role supports the successful delivery of projects in line with company policies, regulatory requirements, and commercial objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Contract Management Administer and manage contracts including EPCC, consultancy, supply, and service agreements throughout the project lifecycle. Review, draft, and support negotiation of contract terms and commercial conditions with consultants, contractors, and suppliers. Monitor compliance with contract obligations, ensuring timely execution of deliverables and resolution of issues. Manage contract changes such as variations (VOs), claims, extensions of time (EOT), and final account settlements. Maintain complete and organized records of contracts, insurances, bonds, warranties, and related documents. Commercial & Cost Management Prepare and review development budgets, cost estimates, financial models, and cash flow forecasts. Track actual vs. planned costs, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions. Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project cost efficiency and enhance value. Coordinate the issuance and verification of Certificates of Payment (CoP) and cost claims for contractors, consultants, clients or funding entities. Ensure all commercial activities align with internal governance frameworks, procurement policies, and statutory requirements. Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate records and documentation. Contribute to the development and standardization of procedures, templates, and workflows for contract and commercial operations. Stakeholder & Project Coordination Liaise with internal teams (project, legal, technical, finance) and external stakeholders (consultants, contractors, and authorities) to resolve contractual and commercial issues. Assist in tender evaluations, procurement planning, and risk assessments. Requirements & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Engineering or a related field. Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience in contract and commercial management , with prior exposure to power plant or large-scale infrastructure projects . Strong understanding of contract law, procurement, project costing, and claims management. Proven ability to manage multiple contracts and commercial issues in fast-paced project environments. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Familiar with standard contract forms (e.g. FIDIC, PAM, IEM, CIDB) is an added advantage. Show more Show less
