We are currently working with a leading telco infrastructure company to develop and launch a new environment-focused venture in Malaysia . This initiative aims to create innovative, commercially sustainable environmental partnerships that leverage both digital and physical infrastructure. Role and Responsibilities Advise on the structure, norms, and commercial models of environmental monitoring / ESG in Malaysia, including pricing structures, margin expectations, and contractual norms (with particular relevance to air quality measurement and detection). Advise on potential buyers of ESG and air quality data solutions (e.g., regulators, corporates, insurers, smart city developers) and facilitate introductions to relevant decision-makers. Introduce and connect the company to senior decision-makers within relevant government agencies, corporates, research institutes, environmental service providers, and technology vendors in Malaysia. Provide insights into the competitive landscape, market trends, and regulatory considerations impacting environmental monitoring and compliance in-country. Support commercial negotiations by advising on local practices, leverage points, and risk mitigation strategies. Recommend local partners, service providers, and other resources to support market entry and scaling. Potentially join initial client/partner meetings to provide credibility and local context. Comfortable working in an advisory or part-time capacity with clear deliverables. Qualifications and Education Requirements 10+ years of experience in Malaysian environment-related fields, preferably in environmental monitoring, compliance, or business development roles. Strong personal network across government regulators (e.g., Department of Environment), research institutions, smart city initiatives, environmental solution providers, and private-sector stakeholders. Deep understanding of Malaysian environmental monitoring frameworks, regulatory standards, and data-sharing practices, with experience in air quality measurement, detection systems, or related technologies. Proven track record of facilitating partnerships and implementing environmental monitoring initiatives in Malaysia. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Policy, or related field; postgraduate qualifications preferred but not required. Preferred Skills Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills. Strong negotiation and communication capabilities. Ability to translate technical and regulatory insights into actionable recommendations. Well-versed in current environmental trends, air quality monitoring technologies, and sustainability frameworks in Malaysia. Show more Show less
