The Software Compliance Specialist will be responsible for evaluating, managing, and ensuring compliance with open-source software components within a technology-driven industrial/manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for individuals with a keen interest in technology and a strong understanding of open-source software practices.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of free and open-source software components used in company products and systems
  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements and industry regulations for open-source software
  • Collaborate with the technology department to integrate open-source solutions effectively
  • Maintain a database of open-source software usage and associated licenses
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on best practices for open-source software
  • Monitor emerging trends and updates in the open-source software community
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to open-source software management
  • Support audits and reviews of open-source software compliance within the organization

  • Educational background in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
  • Solid grasp of open-source technologies and licensing models
  • Practical experience in programming (.NET, C++, Java) and the capability to adapt or improve open-source utilities
  • Understanding of security assessment techniques such as SCA, SAST, DAST, and penetration testing
  • Familiarity with secure software development principles and industry frameworks, including those aligned with NIST
  • Proficiency in working with vulnerability repositories and scoring mechanisms, including CVE, NVD, and CVSS
