Job Title: Senior Production Operations Engineer Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Office-based, with offshore travel) Contract Type: Up to 2-year contract, with possibility of renewal Visa/Sponsorship: Open to Malaysian candidates Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Operations Engineer to support safe and efficient production operations for offshore oil and gas assets. This role focuses on root cause analysis, operational integrity, and cross-discipline collaboration to maximise asset availability and production performance. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement processes for unplanned downtime (UPD) management and root cause analysis Support operational planning, loss reporting, and lessons-learned procedures Provide cross-discipline operational support to ensure safe delivery of production forecasts Maintain knowledge of asset integrity, safety case requirements, and operational compliance Participate in process safety management, SIMOPS, and management of change activities Lead or support investigations of operational issues and unplanned shutdowns, including offshore mobilisation Engage with production, maintenance, and other operational teams to identify and implement improvement initiatives Provide operational leadership during work scope design and execution Prepare timely reports on production performance, losses, and improvement recommendations Requirements: University degree in an appropriate engineering or technical discipline Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in offshore or onshore oil and gas operations Experience in troubleshooting, work scope development, and delivery in remote operational environments Ability to assimilate complex operational environments and manage SIMOPS risks Flexible and autonomous work ethic with ability to prioritise multiple high-priority tasks Current BOSIET certification Current AME medical certification Strong communication, analytical, diagnostic, and presentation skills Desirable: At least 5 years' experience in site production operations Higher technical qualifications (Diploma or Degree in Engineering) Training or experience in Emergency Response Command and Control Personal Attributes: Proactive, flexible, and solution-oriented Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multi-discipline teams offshore and onshore Commitment to regulatory compliance and safety standards Show more Show less
