
Assistant Regional Head - Indian Subcontinent

- Responsible for managing, administering, and monitoring the performance of airport stations within the Indian Subcontinent, in alignment with the Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs) set by the Regional Head. Under the Regional Head's guidance, the Assistant Regional Head ensures:
- Safe, secure, and cost-effective airport operations.
- Full regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
- Delivery of 5-star customer service standards.
- This role requires close coordination with Station Heads, Airport Handling Agents, Airport Authorities, and Government Agencies to uphold corporate expectations and ensure high standards of ground handling and customer service.
- Ensure station operations comply with Malaysia's Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR 2016) and local regulations concerning health, safety, and the environment.
- Enforce strict compliance with safety and security standards to maintain a zero-accident record.
- Monitor the availability, accessibility, and updating of mandatory regulatory manuals at all stations.
- Ensure training records of all station staff are valid and up to date.
- Verify that each station has sufficient certified staff to manage and approve load sheets for Malaysia Airlines flights.
- Oversee and record monthly manual load sheet submissions by certified controllers for audit compliance.
- Liaise regularly with Station Heads to ensure the smooth handling of Malaysia Airlines aircraft and passengers.
- Conduct scheduled audits on ground handling agents based on agreed timelines.
- Disseminate official communications, circulars, and updates from Head Office to station staff and handling agents, ensuring acknowledgment records are maintained.
- Attend and represent the region in meetings; provide updates to the Regional Head on station performance and issues.
- Collaborate with Station Heads to develop role-specific job descriptions aligned with local station needs.
- Coordinate the training and development plans for station personnel.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to Malaysia Airlines' service standards across all stations in the region.
- Confirm that stations are fully compliant with occupational health, safety, and security protocols.
- Diploma (any related field) with minimum 7 years in the aviation industry.
- Develop and implement the Airport Services Regional Management framework and processes.
- Act on behalf of the Regional Head during temporary absences.
- Prepare and submit the region's Operational Expenditure (OPEX) Budget for review.
- Select, appoint, appraise, and discipline Station Heads and their teams as required.
- In the absence of the Assistant Regional Head, responsibilities will be assumed by another Assistant Regional Head, as designated by the Regional Head.
