Overview We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Trade Finance to oversee and manage trade finance operations for a group of entities, ensuring seamless execution of trade transactions while optimizing working capital and compliance. This role involves handling a variety of trade finance instruments, stakeholder coordination, process improvements, and risk management. The ideal candidate should have strong operational expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to lead initiatives in a fast-paced corporate environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Trade Finance Operations & Execution Manage end-to-end trade finance operations, including preparation and submission of credit facility applications (Letters of Credit, Trust Receipts, Pre-Shipment Financing, Invoice Financing, Revolving Credit, etc.). Review and verify trade documents to ensure adherence to bank terms, corporate policies, and international trade regulations Prepare & analyze reports on trade facility utilization, interest costs, and exposure. Resolve discrepancies in trade documents and address bank queries promptly. 2. Stakeholder & Bank Coordination Act as the primary liaison between banks, internal teams (shipping operation, contract, commercials), and external trade partners. Discuss and negotiate favorable trade financing terms with treasury banking for cost optimization and operation efficiency purposes. Ensure smooth trade transactions by coordinating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. 3. Compliance, Risk & Audit Management Ensure all trade finance activities comply with corporate policies, banking regulations, and international trade regulations / practices. Assist in audits, providing necessary documentation and reports as and when required. Manage all aspects of facility governance and compliance, ensuring that all reporting is accurate and submitted on timely manner 4. Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives Identify inefficiencies in trade finance processes and implement optimization solutions. Keep abreast of business trends, regulatory changes, new trade finance products and understand its implications on treasury functions. Lead or drive continuous improvement projects and digital transformation initiatives. 5. Leadership & Team Support Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Act as a backup for team leads and handle ad-hoc projects as required. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accountancy, Banking, or related field. 4-5 years of hands-on experience in trade finance, corporate banking, or treasury operations. Good knowledge of trade finance instruments. Possess supervisory role with experience in coaching subordinates. Analytical & detail-oriented - able to detect discrepancies and ensure compliance.
