The position required a strategic, hands-on professional to lead procurement and vendor management for all transport operations - including cross-border trucking (Malaysia-Singapore) and domestic secondary distribution in Malaysia and Singapore. This role is responsible for sourcing, contracting, and managing a panel of transport service providers to ensure optimal service, cost, and scalability. Act as the commercial and operational owner of our subcontracted fleet and logistics partners, playing a key role in both operational execution and long-term cost control. Key responsibilities: Transport Procurement Lead the end-to-end procurement of road transport services (FTL, LTL, bonded, ambient). Run structured RFQs, tenders, and spot rate benchmarking across Johor, Klang, and Singapore. Define rate cards, cost structures (e.g., per trip, per m , fuel surcharges), and service tiers. Develop and maintain transporter contracts with clear SLAs, penalty/reward mechanisms, and safety compliance. Vendor Management Onboard and evaluate licensed hauliers, customs brokers, and warehouse operators. Maintain a qualified and scalable panel of vendors for both cross-border and local distribution. Develop and monitor vendor scorecards: delivery reliability, documentation quality, responsiveness, claims history. Build relationships with key partners to secure peak-day capacity. Compliance & Risk Ensure all transport partners meet legal, customs, and safety standards (licenses, insurance, driver permits, etc.). Monitor subcontractor activities at border points and CIQs to pre-empt issues. Work closely with Customs/Operations teams to align on HS codes, permit accuracy, and documentation readiness. Ensure the transporters comply with the Linfox sub-con handbook requirement. Cost & Performance Analytics Track and report transport spending against budget and volume. Recommend cost optimization strategies (route consolidation, load planning, mode shift). Support Finance with vendor invoice validation and discrepancy resolution. Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with operations planners, customs coordinators, customer service, and sales to ensure service alignment. Act as escalation point for vendor performance issues or operational exceptions. Qualifications & Experiences: 5+ years of experience in transport procurement, logistics vendor management, or supply chain operations. Strong knowledge of cross-border logistics in the Malaysia-Singapore corridor preferred. Familiar with rate structures: FTL, LTL, CIQ clearance, fuel surcharges, peak/off-peak pricing. Experience with customs-related logistics or bonded trucking is a plus. Proficient in Excel, TMS (Transport Management Systems), and tender platforms.
