Responsibilities / Tasks
  • Execute service jobs, including equipment maintenance and overhaul, at customer sites and workshop, according to GEA standards and guidelines.
  • Attend to service calls and provide technical support & consultation and customers, primarily in Malaysia.
  • Conduct inspection, health check, and troubleshooting on site for issues related to process, mechanical and/or electrical.
  • Prepare and compile service reports with recommendation to customers.
  • Supervise plant installation and support project commissioning.
  • Support project engineering works as assigned by project manager.
  • Provide technical support to service sales team, including but not limited to, process calculation, engineering sizing, and assistance in preparing costing and proposal.
  • Develop teamwork and build rapport with both local and remote service teams.
  • Represent GEA as trusted advisor and ensure high satisfaction level among GEA customers.
  • On-the-job training and opportunities to gain product / process knowledge will be offered.
  • This role sits in GEA Malaysia office, and reports to Director Service in Singapore
Your Profile / Qualifications
  • Candidate with degree in engineering and minimum 3 years of service / project / machinery experience.
  • Candidate with prior technical knowledge and project experience in process engineering system such as industrial spray drying, powder handling and packing, as well as liquid processing systems in food and dairy industry is preferred.
  • Experience with site work, machinery maintenance and customer interaction are essential.
  • Heavy lifting work is expected on site.
  • Good computer skills with a sound knowledge of the following software packages, Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
  • Good oral, written and presentation skills in the English language are essential. Proficient in Mandarin and Malay languages is considered a plus.
  • Well-organized and responsible with an aptitude in problem-solving.
  • Independent, highly motivated, service driven and open-minded.
  • Able to communicate/deal professionally with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skill and strong sense of ownership.
  • Travels of short durations in Malaysia & Singapore is required
