Job Responsibilities Prepare, review, negotiate and draft a wide array of legal documents relating to investment banking advisory services, stockbroking and futures broking activities, ensuring the rights and interests of Affin Hwang Investment Bank Berhad ("AHIB") and the Affin Group of companies are protected at all times whilst simultaneously facilitating business strategies. Collaborate and provide advice on legal risk factors involving business decisions and operations of AHIB and the Affin Group of companies and concurrently advise on legal documentation, where required. To provide legal solutions and support to new initiatives and products offered or introduced by AHIB and the Affin Group of companies. Prepare the financing documents relating to the portfolio lending facility based on the standard template prepared by external solicitors. Attend to matters that may be referred to Legal by support functions, which include but are not limited to liaising with the external solicitors in respect of preparation of the relevant documentation for staff housing loan or reviewing vendor agreements and IT contracts. Manage the empanelment or removal of law firms and conducting regular reviews to ensure the standard of deliverables remain consistent and of a high standard. Drive continuous improvement in legal services by enhancing SOPs, improvement of template documents and to assist the Legal team to provide training or write-ups to enhance the financial legal literacy of the employees of AHIB and the Affin Group of companies. Serve as secretariat to AHIB management committees allocated to AHIB Legal. Undertake such other duties, including legal matters received from the Affin Group of companies, as may be required from time to time. Job Requirements Degree in Law. 5-7 years of experience in providing legal advice to an investment bank or stockbroking company, either as an in-house counsel or a practicing lawyer in a law firm or both. Deep understanding of banking laws, regulations and industry practices and displays familiarity with the legal requirements specifically in relation to investment banking and the capital markets industry.
