- Oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, tax, audit, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial performance monitoring to support the company’s strategic goals.
- Conduct cost analysis and develop pricing strategies, including landed cost calculations (e.g., import duties, freight, insurance, warehousing), to optimize margins and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, financial reporting standards, statutory regulations, and internal policies.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management for business planning and decision-making.
- Manage banking relationships and financing activities, including working capital management, trade financing (e.g., Letters of Credit, Trust Receipts, Bank Guarantees), and investment planning.
- Monitor foreign exchange exposure and implement hedging strategies to minimize currency risks in cross-border transactions.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and relevant authorities to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with import/export regulations.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls and standard operating procedures to improve financial accuracy, accountability, and efficiency.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and government agencies for financial audits, tax submissions, and regulatory matters.
- Lead, mentor, and support the finance team, fostering a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative work environment.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams such as logistics, procurement, and sales to align financial planning with operational activities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting certifications preferred (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and local tax laws.
- At least 10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, with a minimum of 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proven experience handling full sets of accounts, financial reporting, and strategic financial planning.
- Solid background in import-export trading, distribution, or manufacturing with international trade exposure.
- Hands-on experience with trade finance instruments such as Letters of Credit (LCs), Trust Receipts (TRs), and Bank Guarantees.
- Familiarity with foreign exchange (FX) exposure management, especially in multi-currency environments.
- Prior involvement in costing, pricing strategy, and landed cost calculation is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of customs, shipping documentation, and regulatory compliance in cross-border trade.
