JRC is a leading Malaysia based ESG guidance and advisory firm who supports public listed companies, in developing sustainability strategies, climate risk assessments, ESG KPIs and targets, risks assessment and framework development as well as development of policies, action plans and comprehensive sustainability reporting. As a member of the IFRS Sustainability Alliance and an IFRS-certified training partner for Integrated Reporting, JRC is also at the forefront of supporting Malaysian companies in implementing IFRS S1 and S2 sustainability and climate related risks and opportunities disclosures as well as the development of award-winning integrated reports. We are looking for self-motivated, competent and knowledgeable sustainability consultants to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. Experience and knowledge of IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 would be an asset as well as a professional academic background in Accounting and / or in Finance. Talents with 2-5 years of relevant experience would likely be a suitable fit for this position. Responsibilities: Quantify sustainability-related identified risks and opportunities in terms of current and anticipated effects to financial performance and financial position. This includes ability to leverage JRC methodologies in alignment with IFRS S1 and S2 to develop clear financial quantification of risks and opportunities. Develop ESG disclosures in line with ISSB and SASB standards. Development and integration of ESG-related financial metrics and disclosures into companies' overall sustainability reporting approaches and systems including disclosure within annual reports and integrated reports. Prepare ESG data templates in alignment with Bursa, GRI, ISSB (IFRS), FTSE, TCFD & SASB requirements. Tabulate, analyse and evaluate ESG data received (including emissions calculations) to interpret its significance and inform strategic narratives. Draft sustainability reports, corporate ESG policies, strategies, targets and implementation roadmaps based on client data. Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure delivery on expectations, timelines and strategic direction Undertake broader functions such as preparation of annual reports, integrated reports and presentations, client trainings and workshop facilitation, development of questionnaires, etc. Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or related professional qualifications. However, applicants with other professional qualifications who have a strong understanding of finance are encouraged to apply. Strong financial literacy and understanding of how sustainability metrics intersect with financial statements, disclosures, investor expectations and value creation. Practical, comprehensive knowledge of IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (IFRS S1 & S2) is highly advantageous. 2-5 years of experience in the areas of sustainability and corporate reporting would be an added advantage. Excellent written and spoken command of English with demonstrated professional writing, editing and presentation skills. Familiarity with sustainability reporting standards and frameworks such as Bursa Sustainability Reporting Guide, NSRF, GRI, FTSE, TCFD, SASB, SBTi, MSCI, CPD, UNSDGs and other regulatory requirements. Experience in developing GHG inventory and carbon accounting, including proficiency in emissions calculations, would be an advantage Knowledge of Integrated Reporting principles and framework, MMLR, ACE LR, MCCG 2021, ISO 19011:2018, and environmental sciences would be an advantage.
