In this role, the Engineer will perform the planning, forecasting, implementation and identification of resource requirements for global networks in one or more of the following areas: voice/data, E-Commerce, LAN/WAN, remote access, multimedia and data center network technologies Key Responsibilities: Responsible for global network planning, network architecture design, and engineering. Integrates and schematically depicts network architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission links and protocols into complete network configurations. Responsible for network problem resolution, (Tier 3 support) utilizing structured troubleshooting tools and techniques. Interfaces with vendors (Cisco, ATT, Avaya, Verizon, etc.) on complex systems problems. Responsible for the documentation of technical standards and interfaces in support of global network. Prepare network proposals with financial impact on hardware, software, and FTEs. Responsible for the daily management, monitoring, and troubleshooting of all Corporate Palo Alto network systems Plan and execute changes to Firewalls using approved management tools, and in accordance with established change management processes . Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience. 5+ years' experience in all phases of network design, installation and maintenance in voice/data telecommunications global network technology. Good knowledge of network hardware and software, infrastructure and design, topologies and protocols. Good analytical, problem-solving skills. Ability to foster strong partnerships with business customers, peer groups, and vendors. Good oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to manage expectations of the business, team members, management and external groups. Certifications such as Cisco Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferred Knowledge and experience in installing and supporting Palo Alto Security Appliances (minimum three years) Knowledge of protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SPT, TRUNKS, VLANs, Port-Channel, Static routing Why MetLife At MetLife, we don't fit into a box, we create our own boxes.
