Position: Manager, Supply Chain Management Location: Kuala Lumpur Job Purpose: The Manager, Supply Chain Management is a critical leadership role responsible for providing comprehensive end-to-end supply chain support. This includes overseeing demand and supply planning, logistics, and physical distribution for key product categories across multiple countries within the Southeast Asian region. The incumbent will ensure operational excellence, compliance, and strategic alignment within the supply chain function. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and provide strategic guidance and training to the Supply Chain team, fostering a high-performance culture. Logistics & Distribution Oversight: Coordinate and monitor activities of Third-Party Logistics (3PL) and Fourth-Party Logistics (4PL) providers concerning inventory, warehousing, and secondary assembly, ensuring service Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are consistently met and compliance with relevant quality management systems is maintained. Demand & Supply Planning: Collaborate with distributors on demand forecasting, order replenishment, invoicing, and goods receipt processes to ensure accurate planning and smooth operations. Inventory Management: Manage and monitor inventory targets, including safety stock levels, fill rates, and months-on-hand (MOH), as approved by senior management. Proactively monitor inventory at the SKU level and recommend rationalization or adjustments based on demand trends. Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on forecast accuracy and inventory performance against established targets to management. Issue Resolution: Monitor and track all inventory and supply chain related issues, escalating unresolved matters to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution. Operational Flow & Compliance: Manage and monitor backorders, shipment statuses, and freight-related issues. Maintain and continuously improve documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash processes. Quality System Implementation: Oversee inventory reconciliation and reporting, ensuring stock rotation and inventory management adhere to internal procedures. Ensure the local Quality Management System (QMS) is effectively implemented and maintained within the Supply Chain department. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead process improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain team and drive cross-functional collaboration to implement best practices and streamline operations across the organization. Budget & Performance Review: Manage the supply chain budget and review operational performance against strategic plans. Product Handling Coordination: Coordinate with manufacturers or distribution centers to resolve stock discrepancies during goods receiving. Clearly communicate product storage and transportation requirements to 3PL partners. Disposal Management: Coordinate product disposal activities with 3PL, 4PL providers, and relevant internal departments. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate distribution records, especially for sensitive products like implantable medical devices, in full compliance with regulatory requirements. Ad-hoc Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned to support overall supply chain objectives. Authority: Authorized to approve customs payments for imported products. Authorized to approve all intercompany invoices related to imports. Authorized to approve Warehouse Receipt Reports for inbound products. Authorized to approve Stock Adjustment Journals. Authorized to approve product disposal by 3PL and 4PL providers, in coordination with the Finance Department. Scope of Position: Overseeing a team of 3 direct reports. Responsible for operations spanning Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Key Relationships: Internal: Sales, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Finance External: Third-Party Logistics (3PL), Fourth-Party Logistics (4PL), Distributors Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Language Skills: Fluent in both spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia. Professional Experience: Minimum of 6 years' experience, specifically in warehousing and distribution within a 3PL-managed environment, with a focus on order fulfillment in the medical devices or similar regulated industry and an order-to-cash business model. At least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role with a proven track record of leading supply chain teams. Extensive experience managing end-to-end supply chain activities, including demand planning, warehousing, inventory control, distribution, and logistics. Familiarity with Malaysian customs regulations and import/export documentation requirements. Exposure to working with 3PL/4PL providers, warehouse automation, and transportation partners in Malaysia. Hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and forecasting tools (e.g., JDA).
