The Project Director (Civil) plays a critical leadership role in managing and delivering large-scale civil and infrastructure projects. The Director oversees the planning, execution, and successful delivery of civil works, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope and budget, and meet regulatory and quality standards. The role collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, external consultants, contractors, and authorities to ensure all phases of the construction lifecycle are properly managed. Key Responsibilities: Lead the execution of major civil and infrastructure projects from planning to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Develop project scopes, timelines, cost estimates, and resource plans in collaboration with engineering and planning teams. Manage day-to-day site operations and construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards. Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and local authorities to obtain approvals, resolve site issues, and maintain project momentum. Support procurement and contract management activities, including review of tender documents and evaluation of contractor performance. Monitor and manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables; track and report progress to Head of Department. Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate high-impact risks, including unforeseen geotechnical conditions, environmental challenges, and supply chain disruptions. Develop and implement robust contingency plans to ensure business continuity and project resilience. Ensure effective team performance and development by supervising engineers, site supervisors, and construction teams. Conduct technical reviews of engineering designs and construction drawings for compliance with standards and regulations. Foster strong working relationships with regulatory agencies, utility providers, and relevant government stakeholders. Instill and enforce an uncompromised commitment to safety and quality across all project activities. Implement a zero-tolerance policy for safety violations and uphold the highest standards of workmanship. Qualification & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; a Master's Degree or professional certification (PEng, PMP) is an advantage. Proficient in construction management software, MS Project, or equivalent project tracking tools. Minimum of 12 years' experience in civil and infrastructure project delivery, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
