About the Company Our client, a leading global data centre developer partnered with a fast-growing project management consultancy, is spearheading a data centre project in Malaysia, a flagship initiative in Southeast Asia's booming digital economy. We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead this mission-critical project, driving excellence in delivery and stakeholder coordination. The Role As the Project Director , you will take full ownership of the end-to-end delivery of a high-profile data centre project. You will act as the client's lead representative in Malaysia, shaping strategy, managing procurement, overseeing design and construction, and ensuring world-class standards are met. This role requires navigating complex cross-border stakeholder dynamics, aligning global expectations with local execution, and delivering the project on time, within budget, and to the highest quality. Key Responsibilities Lead the strategic planning and execution of the data centre project from feasibility to commissioning. Oversee procurement, design coordination, and construction management, ensuring compliance with global and local standards. Manage multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and international consultants. Develop and monitor project execution plans, budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies. Drive quality assurance through audits, design reviews, and stakeholder alignment. Provide leadership to deliver the project at scale, with precision and speed, while maintaining safety and sustainability standards. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in data centre construction or mission-critical facilities. Proven track record of leading data centre projects in Asia, ideally in Malaysia or Southeast Asia. Strong understanding of civil, structural, architectural (CSA), and mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) systems. Familiarity with US developer standards and Malaysian construction regulations. Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Chartered Engineer are highly desirable.
