Job Descriptions Supervise the management of Shariah non-compliance (SNC) risk events of MBSB Bank, i.e. to systematically identify, measure, monitor and report SNC risks in the operations, business, affairs and activities of the Bank. Provide SNC risk mitigation methodology and tools to assist business units in managing the risk and evaluate the effectiveness of the control measures. Analyze any potential SNC incident reported and assist identification of income that requires purification through de-recognition of income. Provide timely and independent reporting and escalation of SNC risk exposures to Senior Management, Shariah Advisory Committee (SAC), BRMCC and BOARD. Constructively challenge Business/ Operation Units views that may give rise to SNC risks. Threshold Qualifications A recognized degree in Shariah or Islamic Banking/ Finance. Certified Islamic Finance Professional will be preferred. Years & Nature of Experience Highly developed analytical and communication skills Good interpersonal skills to deal with all levels of people Able to work independently as well as a good team player Sound business and financial judgement and problem solving skills Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills Ability to organize and motivate individuals at various levels Key Competencies Knowledge on overall SNC risks practices in a financial institution Well versed with Shariah and regulatory requirements for Banks Relevant first and second lines experience in Islamic Banking operations, product developments, compliance and/or audit.
