Position : Sea Freight Pricing Specialist Location : Shah Alam, Selangor Job Overview: Sea Freight Pricing Specialist will be responsible for sourcing, analyzing, and negotiating sea freight rates from various carriers and shipping lines. This role is crucial for our ability to provide competitive and accurate quotes to our customers, thereby driving business growth and ensuring profitability. The Sea Freight Pricing Specialist will be a key point of contact for our sales and operations teams, providing expert advice on pricing strategies and market trends. Job Descriptions: Develop and maintain the most competitive pricing strategies for FCL Export to maximize business opportunities and profitability. Lead and coordinate global pricing processes for ocean freight tenders, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and competitiveness. Actively procure rates by engaging with shipping lines and carriers, maintaining strong relationships to secure favorable contracts and service allocations. Negotiate special pricing for large-volume shipments, project cargo, and new trade lanes to strengthen company market positioning. Analyze customer requirements, market trends, fuel surcharges, and other cost factors (e.g., THC, BAF, CAF) to deliver accurate and competitive solutions. Maintain and update a comprehensive database of rates, tariffs, and pricing records, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with company policies. Provide pricing insights, market intelligence, and trend analysis to support management decision-making and sales strategy development. Prepare and deliver timely, well-structured, and competitive freight quotes to the sales team and key clients, ensuring high responsiveness and professionalism. Collaborate closely with regional sea freight teams, operations, and other internal departments to ensure smooth communication, alignment, and seamless service delivery. Conduct post-mortem reviews of pricing performance, monitoring competitiveness and client satisfaction, and recommend continuous improvements. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business, Shipping, or Logistics or related fields. 5-8 of experience in a pricing or procurement role within the freight forwarding or logistics industry. Good relationships with carrier representatives. Proven experience in sourcing and negotiating rates with ocean carriers. Strong knowledge of LCL and FCL, import/export processes. Advanced Excel and MS Office skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex data. Strong organizational and time management skills.
