Lead Mechanical Engineer - CCGT Power Plant Project Contract role - 14 to 20 months Site based role Based in Sarawak The role: Act as the on-site representative for Piping & Mechanical construction, ensuring support and oversight of QA/QC inspection activities Attend and contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly progress review meetings Review all construction engineering documents related to pre-fabrication and installation, including procedures, plans, drawings, specifications, QA/QC records, inspections, witness activities, and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) Conduct inspections and witness tests for mechanical and piping systems in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), witness points, SAT, and other key site milestones Perform inspection duties at off-site manufacturing and fabrication locations, laydown areas, and storage facilities for imported equipment and packaged items, as needed Confirm the availability and accuracy of QA/QC documentation and certifications for mechanical and piping systems Review and compile punch lists and non-conformance reports (NCRs) related to mechanical and piping scope Liaise with the engineering team for resolution of technical queries or clarifications Requirements: Proven experience in the construction and commissioning of large-scale Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plants Minimum 5 years in a Lead Site Engineer role Hands-on experience with rotating equipment Strong understanding of piping systems, including design, fabrication, installation, alignment, and joint assembly Solid knowledge of materials used in mechanical and piping works Familiarity with inspection and testing techniques, including Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE) Well-versed in applicable codes and standards Valid CIDB and BEM registration/certification required Show more Show less
