Summary The Business System Analyst acts as a key intermediary between Business Users and the Technology team, ensuring that user requirements are complete, clear, and well-understood. The role involves translating these requirements into technical solutions documented in JIRA (equivalent to Functional Specification documents in a Waterfall methodology), enabling the development team to design and implement effective solutions. The Analyst is also responsible for maintaining the quality of both requirements and technical documentation, ensuring they meet established standards to minimize rework and support successful solution delivery. Responsibilities Work with the Senior Business Partner to lead and facilitate ongoing requirements prioritization. Work with the Product/Project Manager/Sponsor/Business Users to review completeness of the business requirements. Lead requirements validation activities to confirm that a solution based on the requirements would meet customer needs and achieve the business objectives. Represent requirements using alternative views, such as visual analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or simulations, where appropriate. Work with the Solution Architect Team to ensure that the end to end high-level solutions adhere to the company&aposs overall direction and architecture. Obtain the signoff from the Business Partner on the high-level solutions. Manage the creation and use of requirements trace information. Setup JIRA base on the Business/User Requirements. Functional Specification must be clear, with diagrams, process flow, copy of screens with the required changes (if applicable). Walkthrough the requirements to ensure users are clear on deliverables and Application Team are aware of the scope of deliveries for the preparation of Technical Specification. Track requirements status throughout the project and manage changes to base line requirements through effective and appropriate application of change control processes and tools. Work with Digital Front-end Product Manager/BSA to deliver end-to-end solution. Document and log all requests using the existing tools and ensure all documents/evidence are kept/filed accordingly. Prepare the SDLC checklist and ensure that all documents are attached with approval and with the designated signatures of Head of Department, Application leads, User leads and Business Partners. Actively monitors and follow-up to ensure Project/Initiative is completed on schedule. Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in-order to meet operational and/or other requirements. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in preparing User Requirements and/or Functional Specifications. Experience in IT business support through development, business analysis, or consulting. Knowledge of the insurance industry is an advantage. Familiarity with operational processes in New Business, Servicing, Claims, Finance, and their supporting systems. Solid understanding and practical experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Knowledge of IT Standard Operating Procedures, including development and security policies and guidelines. Understanding of integration systems across digital front-end, middle office, and back-end platforms. Experience working in Agile environments. Proficiency in using JIRA.
