Position Summary The Commercial Head, Functional Fats is responsible for leading the strategic, commercial, and operational aspects of the specialty fats business. This role involves driving growth, innovation, and profitability while ensuring alignment with the company&aposs overall business objectives. The individual will oversee global sales activities for functional fats as well as go-to market strategy to deliver high-value solutions to customers across various industries, such as confectionery, bakery and dairy applications. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Business Growth Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for the specialty fats segment to drive revenue and market share. Identify and capitalize on emerging trends in sustainable and functional specialty fats, including palm and lauric based fractions, cocoa butter alternatives (CBEs, CBRs, CBS), and dairy fat replacers. Align business goals with the company&aposs overall growth objectives. Commercial & Sales Management Lead the commercial team to achieve sales and profitability targets. Develop and manage key accounts with multinational food manufacturers, confectionery brands, and bakery ingredient suppliers. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners. Oversee pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and risk management. Strengthen relationships with global and regional customers, identifying new applications and market segments. Product Development & Innovation Collaborate with R&D and technical teams to develop innovative specialty fat solutions tailored to industry needs. Ensure a strong pipeline of new products aligned with consumer trends such as health & wellness, plant-based alternatives, and sustainability. Drive value-added customization and application-specific product development. Supply Chain & Operations Work closely with supply chain, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure efficient production and raw material sourcing. Optimize supply chain strategies to improve cost efficiency and service levels. Ensure product quality and compliance with industry regulations and food safety standards. Financial & Performance Management Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take proactive measures to drive profitability. Identify cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across commercial, technical, and operational functions. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Ensure alignment between regional and global teams for effective business execution. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Food Science, Agriculture, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in the specialty fats & oils industry, with a proven track record in commercial leadership. Strong understanding of market dynamics, technical applications, and supply chain complexities in specialty fats. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to drive innovation, profitability, and biz growth. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu/Indonesia will be an advantage to effectively liaise with Mandarin- or Bahasa-speaking stakeholders. Show more Show less
