  • To support the Engineering Manager in managing the maintenance team by providing guidance, instruction, direction and leadership to the team for the purpose of achieving a safe working environment & optimal equipment technical availability whilst working within the agreed budget.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Equipment Failures & efficiency - Carry out effective, efficient fault finding and problem resolution to root cause where possible on a wide range of complex systems in a continuous process environment so that they maintain the plant to deliver the target operating efficiencies. Also to appraise, lead, motivate, coach and develop the maintenance team in accordance with the values so that they maintain the plant to deliver the target operating efficiencies.
  • Safety & Compliance - Apply, and ensure compliance, with the Company’s Health & Safety and Environmental Policy and Procedures so that a safe and secure environment is maintained
  • Budget Control - To ensure all financial control procedures are adhered to so that the Engineering Team has an accurate and up to date picture of current spend vs. budget.
  • Continuous Improvement – Support the CI Framework, applying CI techniques and investigating new technologies in predictive and preventative maintenance, continually improve the performance of the maintenance team in in line with the strategic plan in order to attain world class maintenance standards
  • Physical Infrastructure - Support the Engineering Manager in keeping the Site, buildings and fabric, physical infrastructure and Manufacturing and Assembly assets and equipment, in a well maintained and safe condition
  • Preventive Maintenance – Design and review the preventive maintenance program.
  • Resource Management & Utilisation – Ensure effective management and utilisation of the day(seven persons) & shift technician(one person per shift, total 4 persons) who will report to you directly. Any assignment that will be assigned by the Engineering Manager.
  • Troubleshooting & rectification of any machiney/process related problems.
  • Improvement of any machinery/process related problems.
  • Establish, review & improve preventive maintenance programs for all machinery.
  • Establish, review & improve LOTO for all machinery
  • Establish/Review spare parts quantity and availability
  • Closing work orders on timely basis. Ensure useful information have been entered into the SAP system
  • Provide training to other staffs
  • Manage staffs (roster, stand-by, call-in, shift, annual/emergency/other leave, off/rest days, etc)
  • Assign jobs to staffs
  • Provide guidance/knowledge to staffs to execute & complete jobs effectively with quality
  • Liaise with staffs for any defects/improvement/preventive/corrective jobs
  • Liaise with suppliers/contractors/consultant/authorities. (sourcing/evaluation/job execution)
  • Ensure all staffs/contractors are complied with safety policy/regulations/procedures
  • Assume the role of E&I maintenance engineer when he is away
  • Stand-by to response to call-in for rectification of emergency breakdown/problems and work at extended hour.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 years of working experience in related field is required.
  • Diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Electrical Engineering from a reputable institution with 8 years of working experience will be considered
  • Strong people management and communication skills; ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
  • Problem-solving abilities and hands-on maintenance experience.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues involving pumps, gears, piping, valves, conveyors, etc.
  • SAP system experience preferred but not essential.
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills such as Malay or Mandarin are a plus.
