- Lead and manage the daily operations of the finance and accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate month-end close, statutory, tax, and regulatory reporting.
- Oversee and enhance financial reporting processes, including group consolidation, external audits, and IFRS-compliant reporting.
- Develop, implement, and document robust business processes and internal controls to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities; analyze and explain variances to management.
- Support corporate finance activities, including due diligence, business expansion, and investor reporting.
- Serve as a key finance partner to Malaysian and Payment Business leadership, providing financial insights and support for business projects and strategic initiatives.
- Mentor and upskill junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and other external stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and execute process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in a high-growth, fast-changing environment.
- Contribute to the planning and potential implementation of new finance projects, including process standardization, transition support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of finance.
- Undertake other assignments which may be given from time to time.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred
- Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including supervisory experience; experience in fast-paced environments or startups is highly valued
- Prior experience in a Big 4 audit firm is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, MFRS) and relevant regulations, eg FRS 9, 7, 32 and 15
- Advanced Excel and ERP (e.g., Netsuite) skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop junior staff in a demanding environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior business leaders
- Fast learner with a proactive, hands-on approach and strong problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and delivering results under pressure
