Responsibilities: To provide leadership and manages the legal department To serve as strategic legal counsel to the Exco and Senior management, providing insightful and pragmatic advice on legal matters, including risk management, corporate governance, and strategic initiatives. Lead and manages the drafting, and reviewing of contracts, agreements, banking products and legal documentation with legal implications. Supervises and provides legal research and/or opinion for any legal queries from various departments. Responsible in following up and maintaining relationships with external solicitors in matters which require solicitors input, advice or opinion. Responsible in ensuring the management of record keeping and filing systems of legal files and legal documents ar in order. Manages and advises on other office details in attending queries, preparing memorandum and attending to letters and documents addressed to the Department and attending meetings as and when required and to other routine matters. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer on matters which require the attention of the Head of Department/ Chief Executive Officer and/or Deputy Chief Executive Officer Requirements: Holds a Degree in Law (LLB), called to the Bar Knowledge in Shariah law is an advantage Knowledge in Islamic products in banking is also an advantage Must have minimum 10 years experience in management / leadership role Comprehensive understanding of banking laws, regulations, and industry best practices Knowledgeable in banking law, contract law, company law, data privacy law, dispute resolution and applicable laws that are relevant to financial industry.
