  • Possess a Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction or building industry.
  • Proficiency in cost management, including cost planning, cost control, and cost reporting.
  • Experience in contract administration, including preparing contract documents, evaluating variations, and managing claims.
  • Ability to perform accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
  • Strong budgeting skills, including preparing and managing project budgets.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and their application in construction projects.
  • Familiarity with value engineering techniques to optimize project costs.
  • Competent in cost estimating for various construction elements and trades.
  • Fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, encompassing materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings to determine the quantities of materials required for the project.
  • Manage and administer construction contracts, including preparing contract documents, evaluating variations, and negotiating settlements.
  • Monitor project costs and budgets, tracking expenditures and identifying potential cost overruns or savings opportunities.
  • Implement value engineering techniques to optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with project costs and develop mitigation strategies to minimize financial exposure.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, cost forecasts, and other financial documentation to project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
