Job Responsibility Greeting customers as they enter the establishment in a friendly and welcoming manner. Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently, either in person, over the phone, or via electronic ordering systems. Providing recommendations and information about menu items, including ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods. Handling cash, credit card transactions, or electronic payments accurately and securely. Ensuring food orders are presented neatly and accurately. Serving food and drinks to customers promptly and courteously. Cleaning and maintaining the dining area, including wiping tables, sweeping floors, and emptying trash bins. Restocking supplies, such as napkins, utensils, condiments, and beverages, as needed. Following food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure the safety of customers and compliance with regulations. Collaborating with kitchen staff and other team members to maintain efficient operations during busy periods. Handling customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and resolving issues to the best of your ability. Adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards at all times. Job Requirements Communication Skills Service crew members must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, colleagues, and managers. This includes active listening, speaking clearly, and conveying information accurately. Customer Service Skills Providing exceptional customer service is a primary responsibility of a service crew member. This involves being friendly, courteous, and attentive to customers' needs, as well as handling inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally and diplomatically. Teamwork Service crew members often work as part of a team, collaborating with kitchen staff, fellow crew members, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations. They need to be able to work well with others, contribute positively to team dynamics, and support their colleagues during busy periods. Problem-Solving Service crew members encounter various challenges during their shifts, such as handling customer complaints, addressing equipment malfunctions, or managing unexpected rushes. Strong problem-solving skills enable them to assess situations quickly, identify solutions, and take appropriate action to resolve issues effectively. Attention To Detail Attention to detail is crucial in tasks such as accurately taking customer orders, packing the correct food according to specifications, and maintaining cleanliness standards. Service crew members must pay close attention to detail to ensure orders are correct and hygiene standards are upheld. Flexibility The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and multitask is essential for service crew members. They may need to switch between various tasks quickly, handle unexpected situations, and adjust to fluctuating customer demands. Basic Math Skills Service crew members often handle cash transactions, calculate bills, and make change for customers. Basic math skills are necessary to perform these tasks accurately and efficiently. Food Safety Knowledge Understanding basic food safety principles and hygiene practices is essential for handling food safely and preventing foodborne illnesses.
