Head of Quality Assurance is responsible for establishing, leading, and maintaining the company's Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs to ensure all food and beverage products comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations. This role drives continuous improvement in product quality, safety, and consistency across all production, supply chain, and retail operations. Job Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related discipline. Professional certifications in HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, or Halal Assurance are preferred. Experience: Minimum 10 years in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in the F&B industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role . Strong background in regulatory compliance, audits, and certification processes. Skills & Competencies: In-depth knowledge of F&B industry standards, food laws, and safety regulations in Malaysia. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Analytical mindset with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Key Competencies Strategic Leadership & People Development Regulatory & Compliance Expertise Risk & Crisis Management Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills Continuous Improvement & Innovation Integrity & Accountability Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Compliance Develop, implement, and monitor Quality Assurance (QA) strategies, policies, and procedures across all F&B operations. Ensure compliance with Malaysian regulatory requirements (MOH, JAKIM Halal certification, local councils, DOE, DOSH) and international standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, Halal). Lead and coordinate external audits, inspections, and certifications. Food Safety & Product Quality Oversee food safety programs, including hygiene, sanitation, and product quality control at central kitchen, outlets, and supply chain. Establish product testing protocols (raw materials, semi-finished, finished goods). Implement corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA) for non-conformities. Leadership & Team Management Lead and develop the QA/QC team, ensuring proper training and competency development. Foster a culture of quality awareness and food safety across the company. Collaborate with Operations, R&D, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to drive continuous quality improvements. Risk & Crisis Management Develop risk management strategies for food safety incidents and product recalls. Act as the primary contact for food safety emergencies and customer complaint escalations. Ensure traceability systems are effective for recalls and investigations. Continuous Improvement & Innovation Identify gaps and recommend improvements in processes, standards, and technology. Introduce digital tools or automation to improve quality monitoring and reporting. Drive initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and brand reputation through consistent quality.
