The Insurance Operations Analyst (SME) is a senior-level role, responsible for leveraging expertise in insurance underwriting and/or claims processing to provide specialized support and guidance to the team. This position requires a deep understanding of insurance operations and strong problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in insurance underwriting and/or claims processing, providing guidance and support to junior associates and colleagues. Analyze complex issues and provide resolutions based on a thorough understanding of insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and/or claims management. Lead process improvement initiatives, identify operational inefficiencies, and implement solutions to enhance productivity and accuracy. Support the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures for Insurance Operations processing to ensure compliance and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution across different regions. Provide training and mentorship to junior staff and new team members, fostering knowledge sharing and skills development. Ensure the timely and accurate processing of policies, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, adhering to service level agreements. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including Underwriters, claims adjusters, clients, and brokers, to address complex queries and provide operational support. Manage escalated issues and offer solutions to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with internal guidelines. Review and validate customer proposals, applications, and transactions, ensuring adherence to insurance policies and regulations. Support in the preparation of regular reports, performance analytics, and presentations to senior management. Job Qualifications: A bachelor's degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, or equivalent in any field. 2-4 years of experience as a Subject Matter Expert in insurance underwriting, claims processing, or related fields. Strong expertise in insurance underwriting, claims processing, and/or insurance products. Proficiency in written and spoken English fluency in Cantonese is a must for roles supporting the Cantonese-speaking regions. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex issues and provide actionable solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Proven ability to lead and mentor junior team members, ensuring continuous learning and development. Experience in Business Process Outsourcing or Shared Services environment is a plus.
