- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation of financial statements for all subsidiaries, including international entities and project-specific joint ventures.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP, including construction-specific standards
- Manage foreign currency translation, intercompany eliminations, and cross-border adjustments.
- Manage and ensure compliance with global transfer pricing regulations
- Monitor project-level financials including WIP (Work-in-Progress), cost-to-complete analysis, and revenue recognition based on project milestones.
- Ensure accurate treatment of retention sums, performance guarantees, and project-specific accruals.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting across all subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with project timelines and funding needs.
- Track group-wide cash flow, especially for capital-intensive projects and overseas operations.
- Ensure tax compliance across jurisdictions (including withholding tax, VAT/GST, etc.).
- Strengthen internal controls related to procurement, subcontractor payments, and inventory usage at project sites.
- Implement and enhance financial reporting systems, with a focus on project accounting integration
- Drive automation of cost tracking, intercompany reporting, and consolidation.
- Develop and enforce group-wide accounting policies and SOPs, especially for overseas subsidiaries and JV structures.
- Lead and mentor the accounts teams across subsidiaries, ensuring consistent application of group policies.
- Act as a key liaison between finance, project management, commercial, and corporate teams especially with banks financing our project
- Participate in coordinating group-wide audit processes, including statutory audits and project-specific reviews.
- Continuous improvement areas - Strengthen internal controls related to procurement, subcontractor payments, and inventory usage at project sites
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA are strongly preferred).
- Minimum 8-10 years of accounting and finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a group consolidation role within the construction or engineering sector.
- Proven experience in consolidating financial results across multiple entities and overseas subsidiaries, including handling intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translations.
- Strong knowledge of construction-related accounting standards, WIP reporting, and long-term contract accounting.
- Solid understanding of tax and regulatory compliance in multiple jurisdictions, particularly for construction projects abroad.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with project, commercial, and site teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage financial risks related to construction contracts, such as variation orders, retention sums, and claims
- Proven background in the construction and engineering sectors with exposure to project finance.
- Hands-on experience managing financial consolidation and reporting for overseas subsidiaries and joint ventures.
- Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional tax compliance and regulatory environments, especially related to cross-border construction projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple locations and cultural contexts.
- Experience working in fast-paced, capital-intensive environments with complex contractual arrangements.
