As part of our strategic expansion, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Financial Controller to lead our finance team.Position: Group Financial ControllerLocation: MalaysiaJob Overview: The Group Financial Controller will be a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial management and reporting functions of the company. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this position will play a crucial role in driving financial strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making at the executive level.Key Responsibilities:Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial planning processes, including annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term strategic plans.
  • Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making and performance optimization.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, including quarterly and annual reports, in compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., Bursa Malaysia, MFRS).
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records and disclosures.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, legal counsel, and regulatory authorities to facilitate audits and regulatory filings.
Risk Management and Internal Controls:
  • Develop and implement robust internal control processes and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulations.
  • Identify and assess financial risks, including market risks, operational risks, and compliance risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management practices, recommending improvements as necessary.
Treasury and Cash Management:
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and capital allocation strategies to optimize financial resources and support business operations.
  • Oversee treasury operations, including cash forecasting, banking relationships, debt financing, and investment management.
  • Implement hedging strategies to mitigate currency and interest rate risks and optimize returns on surplus funds.
Financial Systems and Processes:
  • Evaluate and enhance financial systems, processes, and controls to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and ensure data integrity.
  • Lead the implementation of ERP systems or upgrades to support evolving business needs and reporting requirements.
  • Provide training and support to finance team members to optimize the use of financial systems and tools.
Leadership and Team Development:
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
  • Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and development plans for finance team members to drive engagement and career growth.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial position.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial reporting standards (e.g., MFRS), regulatory requirements, and corporate governance principles.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking ability, with a track record of translating financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives, board members, and external stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Experience in the real estate or property development industry is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
