The Vice President of Business Development plays a critical role in driving organization growth by formulating and executing strategic plans, identifying new business opportunities, managing partnership, overseeing merger and acquisitions, and fostering innovation to achieve revenue targets and enhance the company's competitive position. Responsibilities Develop and execute the company's business development strategies in alignment with overall organization goals. Drive revenue growth by identifying, negotiating, and closing business deals that align with the company's objectives. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscapes, and potential opportunities. Build and manage strategic partnerships, alliances, and collaborations with other organizations. Explore and evaluate potential mergers and acquisitions that align with the company's strategic objectives. Foster and maintain relationships with key clients and customers. Collaborate with internal teams to drive innovation and develop new products or services that meet market demands and enhance the company's competitive position. Assess and manage risks associated with business development activities, ensuring that the company pursues opportunities with a clear understanding of potential challenges and mitigations. Provide leadership and direction to the business development team, ensuring that they are aligned with organizational goals and equipped to execute strategies effectively. Regularly report on progress to executive leadership and stakeholders. KNOWLEDGE / REQUIREMENT In-depth knowledge of the industry in which the company operates, including market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment. Understanding of financial concepts, including budgeting, financial analysis, and forecasting, to assess the financial viability of business opportunities. Understanding of sales and marketing principles, as the role often involves revenue generation and promoting the company's product or services. Knowledge of risk assessment and management to evaluate potential challenges associated with business development initiatives. Familiarity with legal aspects of business development, including contracts, intellectual property, and compliance issues. Awareness of emerging technologies and industry innovations that could impact the company's growth and competitive position. Understanding cultural nuances and global business practices, particularly if the company operates in international markets. A focus on customer needs and satisfaction, ensuring that business development efforts align with delivering value to clients. SKILLS & ABILITIES Strong strategic planning skills to develop and implement affective business development strategic aligned with the overall goals of the organization. Strong negotiation skill for deal-making, whether in partnerships, alliances, or merger and acquisitions. Excellent networking skills to establish relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners. Leaderships and team management skills to guide and motivate the business development team toward achieving organizational objectives. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal for presenting proposals, negotiating deals, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Analytical abilities to assess market trends, financial data, and performance metrics make informed business decisions. Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, industry trends, and organizational priorities. Experience in leading and managing a business development team, demonstrating the ability to set and achieve strategic objectives. Experience in leading or playing a key role in mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, deal structuring and pos-merger integration. Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans that align with organizational goals and drive sustainable growth. Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, with a focus on achieving revenue targets and optimizing financial performance. Experience in international business development, including an understanding of global markets, regulatory environments, and cultural considerations. Qualifications A bachelor's or master's degree in business, marketing, or a related field with minimum 5 years of working experience.
