The Senior Vice President, Head of Corporate Sustainability, will lead the Bank's sustainability agenda, ensuring alignment with Bank Negara Malaysia's (BNM) regulatory expectations and other applicable sustainability standards. This role is pivotal in driving ESG regulatory compliance-including BNM's Climate Change and Principle-based Taxonomy (CCPT)-and advancing sustainability-related disclosures in accordance with frameworks such as Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and, eventually, International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). The incumbent will collaborate closely with business and risk functions to embed sustainability as a strategic pillar across the Bank. Key Responsibilities: 1. Sustainability Strategy & Governance Develop and lead the implementation of the Bank's corporate sustainability strategy, with a strong focus on climate risk. Support the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) in driving sustainability governance, including regular reporting to relevant committees and the Board. Provide strategic ESG advisory to business units, risk, compliance, and other key stakeholders. 2. Regulatory Compliance Work with the Risk Management department to ensure compliance with ESG-related regulatory requirements. Monitor evolving regulatory and market expectations on sustainability and provide guidance to internal stakeholders. 3. Sustainability Reporting & Disclosure Lead the preparation and assurance of the Bank's Sustainability Report, ensuring alignment with applicable disclosure guidelines. Oversee ESG data governance and disclosure processes to ensure transparency, accuracy, and audit readiness. 4. Stakeholder Engagement Represent the Bank in industry ESG forums and maintain active engagement with regulators and peer banks. Build strategic partnerships to support innovation in climate risk management and sustainability disclosures. Job Requirements 10-15 years of progressive experience, including several years in corporate sustainability, ESG compliance, or policy/disclosure roles-preferably within banking or financial services. Strong understanding of BNM regulatory frameworks and climate-related supervisory expectations. Experience with TCFD and/or ISSB-aligned disclosures is highly desirable.
