We also use applied technology expertise to serve the defense, entertainment, material handling, aerospace, science, and renewable energy industries.Position SummaryThe Senior Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Advisor must be an effective leader and support their specific region/business unit with guidance and information Identify, understand, and mitigate HSE-related risks, Help develop a workforce that operates in a safe and environmentally responsible manor at all times and also educate, mentor and develop direct reports.This position will report to the Regional HSE Manager – APAC and based in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia.Duties And Responsibilities
Supporting the implementation of the Oceaneering HSSE & Quality Core Processes and HSSE & Quality objectives and Action Improvement plans.
Providing support for the Oceaneering Crisis Management Team, where required.
Involvement in the review and approval process for corporate and site Management System documentation.
Liaise with and support Client project requirements
Support & participate in HSSE & Quality Audits.
Responsibility for his/her own health and safety and that of other persons affected by his/her activities; and
For managers and supervisors, actively leading HSSE & Quality initiatives and demonstrating HSE & Quality leadership
Worksite engagement with supervisors and technicians
Monitor daily site tasks and provide advice on risks and controls
Facilitating Risk Assessments, Hazard Identification and JSEA’s
Ensure compliance with all company procedures, and regulatory and legislative requirements for Health and Safety
Assist in advising employees on the requirements for the effective use of safety plans, procedures, and guidelines
Maintain the injury and incident records, reports, investigations, and statistical data, i.e., entering data into Interlex, facilitating Accident and Incident investigations, trending and reporting statistical data.
Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventative measures.
Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
Inspect and audit facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation and management system compliance.
Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
To be available, out of office times to provide operations with information and guidance in Emergency situations, such as Medivac
Attend project onshore / offshore work sites, if and when required.
Any other reasonable duties as required.
QualificationsREQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in health, Safety, Environmental or related field, significant or equivalent Industry experience
and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to provide evidence of effective change and improvement in safety metrics
NEBOSH certificate or any equivalent certification.
ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Internal Auditor certificate or equivalent.
Experience
3 -5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in industry, with onshore and offshore experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Root cause analysis training
Ability to deliver HSE and Risk Management Training
Good working experience and knowledge of providing HSE support to Operations.
Working knowledge of the Malaysian laws and decrees.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with people at all levels of an organisation
Knowledge and ability to lead risk assessments, identify aspects and impacts, and perform HSE needs analysis and Implementation
Proven leadership skills with a track record of successful, collaborative change leadership and management
Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
